Retail Store Membership Club - Sell Inferior Products?
Categories: GeneralExtending the reasoning from my earlier post of the outlet stores con job..we can easily see how Retail Store clubs like Sams club, costco etc are doing the same thing. I am not even talking about similar looking products having different model number and both models though they look similar will have different features.
I am talking of products which look exactly the same but the one at stores like Costco, Sams club,.. will offer inferior value. Say you buy a toothpaste from regular store and one from these clubs, they look similar but the one in clubs will be inferior. I am sure you would have figured something goofy yourself based on your personal experiences..
I am sure they get around to the price gouging law by officially using different product identifiers from the manufacturers. so even though to the layman these products look same technically they are different. so these clubs have their behinds covered.. they are not fools after all.
the irony of all this could be that the retailer makes equal or more profit of items sold at
their membership clubs, which fooling the consumer into believing that they are getting a good deal… and most of the profits just do not come from economies of bulk purchases. another con job
Don’t forget to watch…next week same time.. more of the same!
